Woohoo! We've been Greenlit!

Valve have been in touch to say that, through the power of community voting, we’ve been allowed a place on Steam! It’s a massive day for us, and we’d like to take the opportunity to thank each and every person who clicked the Greenlight page on our behalf. It really does mean the world to us.

The hard work, however, starts here. There’s a whole ton of work that needs to be fed into Knox County before it’s ready for Steam. The UI update, the new crafting, the complete PZ Stories, the balancing, the NPC work…. and of course the detailed road map of everything that will follow. It won’t be an overnight process getting PZ onto Steam, far from it, but thanks to our community and the good people of Steam we’ve vaulted over one of the most challenging hurdles.

Once we’ve descended from Cloud Nine our first priority will (clearly) be to finally get Public Test Build RC3 out of the door, onto our download page and nailed down as our primary Desura update – status details of which you can find here. Beyond that more iterations beckon. Then further iterations. Then a few more. Then Steam and the 1.0 release. Then the great blue beyond of further updates. Then a gruesome and inevitable denouement at the hands and teeth of the undead. That’s the Project Zomboid way.

Spiffo the Community Raccoon says ‘Thank you everyone!’
