KEY RETRIEVAL

If you have purchased Project Zomboid and are unable to log on because you have no CD key or username and password, then here is what you need to do.

Desura

You can retrieve your CD Key by going to this page while logged onto your desura account: https://secure.desura.com/cart/cdkeys

There is a rare bug where the logon screen for PZ will only contain a username and password box, and no box for the Desura CD Key. We’re looking into the cause of this, but if this is your issue then please mail us on accounts@projectzomboid.com with proof of purchase and we’ll give you a PZ traditional username / password.

Google Checkout

You should receive a username and password in your mail inbox when you registered. If you clicked to ‘hide email address’ when purchasing despite the warning on the buy page, then this will not have happened and there is little we can do about it. Try logging onto google checkout and see if you’ve received it as a message within there.

In any case where you’ve not received a username and password, mail us on accounts@projectzomboid.com and we’ll sort it out ASAP. We will add a form to this page as soon as we can where you can retrieve your details yourself, however we need to address some security issues first.

To those who have had an unnecessarily long delay in getting their username and password, we wish to apologize. We did have an automated ‘password recovery’ form but sadly it was hacked and a ton of password reminders were sent out to all our members. Not only did this mean we had to remove it, but the subsequent repeated e-mail spam it generated to all our members meant our server has been spam listed, meaning in many cases our registration e-mail doesn’t get to you.

We’ve now gained the help of a seasoned ‘PHP guy’ who should be able to provide us with a more robust system soon.
