#5 Zombie Charity Walk and Onto’s Avonbridge

Morning survivors. It’s a bold return for the Community of the Dead blog – not least because we’re here to discuss real-world charity zombies AND new terrain for our own-brand of Knox County zombies to stumble around. Exciting times, non?

The first item of interest is the forthcoming epic walk of Zomboid fan Alex Jones (aka Blandman) and his two close buddies John and Ryan. As of Monday they’ll be walking the 360 miles between Dover to Lands End (so essentially the southern coast of England) to raise money for Spinal Research. Even better, they’re going to start off their eighteen day journey dressed as zombies. Like this… even…

Spinal Research is a charity dear to Alex’s heart ever since his older brother was attacked five years ago, and was paralyzed from the neck down. It specialises in researching and treating spinal injury – and The Indie Stone want to throw both our support and that of our community behind Alex, John and Ryan’s epic trek.

If you’d like to join us in supporting the Zombie Walk then you can find Alex’s Virgin Money Giving page here. Godspeed brave ramblers! Shamble to glory!

While we’ve got you, meanwhile, have you checked out Ontogenesis’ amazing new Avonbridge map for the 0.2.0 public test builds? It’s proper good. You can find it alongside installation instructions in this forum thread . You’ll find bars, shops, a cinema, residential areas and a few surprises too. It looks a little something like this.

That’s it for now. We’ll check back in with you when we have your next slice of update news, and likely a blog on some of the new dialogue and NPC meeting scenarios Will and RingoD are conjuring up for future updates. Thanks all!

Spiffo the Community Raccoon once walked from central Muldraugh to the farm. Not for charity. Just because he felt like it.
