Project Zomboid is an Early Access game, and is still in active development. When you buy you purchase a lifetime license, which entitles you to the current build and all future updates.
We are available directly through Steam Early Access, while Steam codes can also be bought through the lovely Humble Store.
We are also available as a direct DRM-free download on GOG.com for those who don’t have Steam as their number one vendor of choice! The GOG download is updated shortly every stable PZ build release, while most beta versions are also made available there.
The latest stable Project Zomboid build will always be the primary Steam version. Details on how to access public test builds of upcoming versions, known as IWBUMS builds, can be found in the PZ Downloads section of our forum whenever they are available. These, however, are released for bug-chasing, and as such might not be the smoothest ride.
Your key will remain valid for all future updates of Project Zomboid and we intend to support it for many years to come. We are not legally bound to provide additional updates, and you are paying for the product as it stands now.
All purchases apply to PC, Mac and Linux desktop versions of the current game only – and not any potential future sequels or offshoots related to the game.
